Went for a drink for my friends birthday recently. We was greeted by a nice chap called Will who made us feel welcome. He was knowledgeable and provided a great service. I would definitely recommend visiting. I will be back to try the food next time as it is meant to be great.

Lovely place with excellent food. Service is attentive. We have visited many times now and have enjoyed it every time! Most recently visited for the Summer Seafood evening and the care and thought put into the food was amazing.

Friendly, reasonably priced gastropub serving locally sourced modern British food on an ever changing menu . Dishes are made from scratch, with great care and attention. Immaculately clean, tasteful decor in this beautiful historic building. I'd recommend booking, the place was full on our Saturday evening visit. Crispy chicken starter was generous, with SE Asian influences of chilli and shaves of cucumber. The game pie was superb, special mention of the buttery and beautifully textured pastry, good chunks of meat and a flavourful gravy. Incredibly filling and tasty. Chocolate mousse was misnamed imo. Huge chunks of thick chocolate covered honeycomb surrounding two scoops of textured malted milk ice cream, sitting on a rich splodge of, more ganache than mousse. It was indulgent and utterly fantastic. Happy to recommend, and worth taking guests to.

Wonderful find in this charming Bedfordshire village. Five star food and seven star service from the friendly and helpful staff. Sunday lunch was excellent and very reasonably priced. A real gem and well worth a visit. We will be definitely be going again :-)

We had a delicious meal of home made food, spinach leek and potato soup with home made bread to start. I can honestly say it was the best soup I have had for a very long time followed by beef and ale pie with mashed potatoes and braised red cabbage. My husband is coeliac and was delighted to discover the fish and chips were gluten free along with half of the menu. The portions were generous even the ice cream was homemade. There was a very nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive, would highly recommend.

Was treated to a lovely meal out with the family, cannot praise this place enough! Staff- EXCELLENT Chef- INCREDIBLE Food- SECOND TO NONE! The chef really should apply for masterchef- it was so, so good! Anyone looking for a Sunday dinner, hit them up! Braised red cabbage was phenomenal, even my eleven year old ate it and she hates all things veg!
